Invest in the Region
The area has a reputation as a world-class centre for advanced manufacturing and engineering. More recently the region has established itself as a leader in the development of driverless technology and low carbon technologies.
Coventry and Warwickshire has one of the largest gaming clusters in the country. The towns of Leamington Spa, Warwick and Southam have been dubbed ‘Silicon Spa’ thanks to a concentration of more than 30 gaming studios.
There is a strong tourist industry in the region with a number of very popular tourist attractions, sports venues, theatres and historical attractions. The area is steeped in history: Stratford-on-Avon is famed for being the birthplace of Shakespeare; and Warwick and Kenilworth both have popular medieval castles. Rugby Union was also invented in 1823 at Rugby School by William Webb Ellis.
Modern draws also include the Coventry Transport Museum and the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, reflecting the area’s proud motoring heritage.
Professional and Business Services is also strength of the region and there are nearly 12,000 companies within the sector including Barclays Bank, Coventry Building Society, Santander, Yorkshire Bank, Allied Irish Bank, Handelsbanken, HSBC and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
