The 2018 Business Festival will take place from 19 to 30 November 2018. Based on recommendations from last year, events are being limited to offer fewer, high-quality business events within the two-week Festival.
Expressions of interest are already being taken on a first come, first served basis. Events can be about anything so long as they benefit individuals or businesses in Coventry & Warwickshire; the subject is topical or challenging, or the event showcases innovation in the business or region.
Festival events will therefore help to raise the profile of the Coventry and Warwickshire area on a national level. Every application is reviewed to make sure it meets the criteria.
The Business Festival has been developed by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub to bring Coventry & Warwickshire businesses together on an annual basis under one unified banner to encourage collaboration, networking, innovation, learning and sharing opportunities. In doing so, the Festival also showcases Coventry & Warwickshire’s strengths and investment potential.
Craig Humphrey, managing director of the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, said: “Our first Business Festival in 2017 was a great start with over 100 different events and 4,000 attendees - making it the biggest business event in the region.
“The Steering Group has reviewed all aspects of the 2017 Festival, and has made some subtle changes to refine and improve the 2018 Festival so that it continues to achieve its objectives and support the businesses in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
“As well as re-organising the sectors slightly, there will be a focus on quality over quantity. The amount of events will be limited and we would like to see a small number of ‘standout,’ headline events. We therefore hope to achieve a relevant, more streamlined, programme that is well-suited to Coventry and Warwickshire’s business community.
“I would urge businesses to consider submitting their expressions of interest before the summer. Even if there are some details that are not yet known, it’s better to submit an application sooner rather than later, to make sure their event stands a better chance of being included in the programme.
“The team at Associate Events will be happy to offer any assistance or answer any questions about the Business Festival or the application process.
“This year we are particularly keen for businesses from across the region whether they are based in Atherstone or Alcester to be involved because we want a greater geographical spread of businesses to hold events.
“We are keen to build on the success of last year’s inaugural Business Festival and make the 2018 Business Festival even better.”
