The health sector encompasses hospitals, doctors' surgeries, dental practices, the ambulance serves, nursing homes, residential care homes, complimentary medicine and a huge range of other health related activities, from opticians to research in medical laboratories.

Many of the jobs in this sector within the region are in the National Health Service (NHS) at the hospitals and Partnership Trust services. Holland & Barrett is a major private sector healthcare employer, providing over 350 jobs at its international headquarters in Nuneaton.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Place Forum, made up of the two Health and Wellbeing Board, has been set up to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and reuse health inequalities.
